Description

A delicious recipe for seared steak coated in a savory soy sauce mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flat iron), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (for searing)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cut steak into bite-sized cubes and toss with cornstarch until lightly coated.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sear steak in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until browned and crispy.
  3. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  4. Pour sauce into skillet with steak. Stir well to coat all pieces.
  5. Simmer sauce for 2–4 minutes until thick and glossy.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss to coat.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the steak marinate in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
