Delicious chocolate caramel cookie bars with a rich flavor.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 10 ounces soft caramels, unwrapped
- 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil and spray generously.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: Beat butter and sugars for 2 minutes until fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Flavor: Mix in eggs, vanilla, salt, and baking soda.
- Add Flour and Chocolate: Add flour on low speed until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press Base Layer: Press ¾ of dough firmly into prepared pan.
- Melt Caramel: Cook condensed milk and caramels over medium-low heat until smooth.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour most caramel over dough. Drop remaining dough on top. Bake 25–30 minutes. Sprinkle sea salt. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Ensure caramels are unwrapped before melting with condensed milk.
- Let the bars cool completely for easier slicing.
