This delicious Old Fashioned Bread Pudding is warm and comforting, perfect for impressing your guests.
Ingredients

- 6 cups stale bread, cubed
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Bread: Place the cubed stale bread in a large mixing bowl.
- Heat the Milk: In a saucepan, heat the milk until warm but not boiling. Pour it over the bread cubes and let them soak for about 10-15 minutes.
- Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the egg mixture into the soaked bread until combined. If using raisins, add them at this stage.
- Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool: Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
