Description
Delicious honey garlic chicken tenders that are perfectly seared and glazed.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons low sodium chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels so they sear instead of steam.
- Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder, then toss with the flour until evenly coated.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat and sear the chicken tenders for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden; transfer to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium, add the butter to the same skillet, and stir in the minced garlic, cooking just until fragrant.
- Whisk in the honey, chicken broth, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes and let the sauce bubble for 1 to 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Return the chicken tenders and any juices to the pan, turning them in the sauce and simmering for another 3 to 4 minutes until cooked through and glazed.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley, taste and adjust seasoning, and serve the chicken tenders hot with extra sauce spooned over the top.
Notes
- This dish can be served over rice or with a side of vegetables.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes for desired spiciness.
