Description
Delicious grilled chicken thighs marinated in a smoky blend of spices and brushed with BBQ sauce for a caramelized finish.

- 1 lb chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0 teaspoons black pepper
- 0 cups BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels and place in a bowl or resealable bag.
- Mix smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Add olive oil to form a paste.
- Rub the mixture onto the chicken, coating all sides well.
- Cover or seal and marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
- Grill chicken skin-side down for 5–6 minutes per side to develop a sear.
- Begin brushing BBQ sauce on both sides, continuing to grill until the sauce is caramelized and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove from grill and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Marinating the chicken overnight will enhance the flavor.
- Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the chicken thighs.
