Description
A delicious casserole made with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook 1 more minute. Drain excess fat.
- Wash, peel, and thinly slice potatoes (about 1/8-inch thick).
- Layer half the potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture. Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk. Pour evenly over the casserole.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake uncovered for 15–20 more minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
- Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
