Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large yellow onions, finely sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup full-fat sour cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown (about 20-25 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Once the onions are caramelized and cooled slightly, fold them into the creamy mixture along with garlic powder and chives. Mix until well combined.
- Refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld before serving with your choice of chips or veggies.
Notes
- For a healthier option, you can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream.
- This dip can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
