Description

This creamy caramelized onion dip is the perfect accompaniment to chips or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large yellow onions, finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown (about 20-25 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  3. Once the onions are caramelized and cooled slightly, fold them into the creamy mixture along with garlic powder and chives. Mix until well combined.
  4. Refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld before serving with your choice of chips or veggies.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream.
  • This dip can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
