Delicious chocolate heart brownies perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups (255 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter
- Valentine heart sprinkles or nonpareils
Instructions
- Make the Brownie Batter: Whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy, add eggs and vanilla, then whisk until smooth. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder just until combined.
- Bake: Pour batter into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes, until set with a fudgy center.
- Cut the Hearts: Lift brownies out using parchment and cut out hearts with a cookie cutter. Let cool for 15 minutes for cleaner dipping.
- Melt the Chocolate: Microwave chocolate chips with coconut oil in short bursts, stirring in between until smooth and shiny.
- Dip and Top: Dip the top of each heart into melted chocolate on parchment and add sprinkles right away.
- Set: Let chocolate set at room temperature for 10 minutes until firm.
